Hold'em - Get paid for all the pieces you don’t lose.
Hold'em chess is a patent pending variation of chess that allows players to strengthen their defensive abilities. The concept is simple. You hold as many of your pieces as you can and once you’ve won the game, your opponent will pay you the total value of those held pieces. Remember to promote those queens!
Ransom - Get paid for all the pieces you capture.
Ransom chess is a patent pending variation of chess that allows players to strengthen their offensive abilities. The model is simple. You take as many pieces as you can from your opponent and once you’ve won the game, your opponent will pay you the total value of those lost pieces.
Outlaw - Negotiate illegal moves and buy back lost pieces.
Outlaw is a patent pending variation on chess that allows players to match wits on more than one plane. Chess concepts such as threats, ghost games, and traps can be fully developed and utilized as a form of accumulating points or currency. Essentially, every singly move is negotiable. Great if you're a beginner as a way to learn from mistakes by bargaining back lost pieces, and better if you're a master of advanced strategies, it will allow you to bluff and milk your opponents for all their worth.
Classic Standard chess, flat deal, no funny stuff.
Blitz
Blitz games are timed variations consisting of one to five minute games. In Blitz, when your opponent runs out of time, it’s a wrap. Your opponent has to pay up. Blitz is great for beginners. It teaches game structure, enhances perception rate, improves memory, and promotes piece protection. And, if you're already a well rounded player, why not make some fast cash?
Outlaw bid functions
In order to negotiate for lost pieces or illegal moves you must select the allow bidding button and then select the allow bidding function. The reason the system works in this manner is to prevent your opponent from overloading you with bids and to not delay the game by setting pieces on squares accidently. This option allows you to simply turn the function off or on at your discretion.
En passant
This is a move in the board game of chess. En passant is a special capture made immediately after a player moves a pawn two squares forward from its starting position, and an opposing pawn could have captured it as if it had only moved one square forward. In this situation, the opposing pawn may, on the immediately subsequent move, capture the pawn as if taking it "as it passes" through the first square; the resulting position would then be the same as if the pawn had only moved one square forward and the opposing pawn had captured normally. The En passant capture must be done on the very next turn, or the right to do so is lost.
Castling
This is a special move in the game of chess involving the king and either of the original rooks of the same color. Castling consists of moving the king two squares towards a rook, then moving the rook onto the square over which the king crossed. Castling is considered a king move.
The Spread
The spread is the difference in the value of the pawns at the beginning of the game versus the potential game value if all the pawns were to become queens before the end of the game.
A Draw
Draws are considered an inability to win the game or loss by both parties. In the event of a draw, be it an agreement between users, or outcome of a game, half the amount of the overall game value will go to PawnShark from each player.
